DICK RANDALL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

APPLICATION

• Scholarships are awarded to individuals to assist them with their educational goals, with a preference toward those focusing on a future in the equine or agricultural industry.
• An account to fund the scholarship program has been established with El Dorado Savings in Rancho Murieta, CA.

• The W.C.E.F. will administer the program and select the scholarship recipients.

Eligibility

Category I

Entering Freshman: Any individual who is an entering freshman in a college, vocational, or business school is eligible to apply.  The applicant must maintain at least 12 units per quarter/semester for the year that the scholarship is in effect. 

Category II

Continuing Students: Any individual who is currently enrolled in a college, vocational, or business school is eligible to apply.  Continuing applicants must maintain at least 12 units per quarter/semester for the year that the scholarship is in effect.  Continuing applicants must send a   grade report at the end of each quarter/semester, in addition to a statement of progress.  Continuing  applicants must have maintained a minimum grade point average of 2.5 in order to be considered. 

Basis of Award

• The W.C.E.F. will evaluate the goals of the applicant and the suitability of the institution chosen.
• The applicant must be accepted in an accredited college, university, vocational or business school in order to receive assistance.

• A complete application and a 300 word personal statement must be received in the office no later than June 30. 
• A current photo of the candidate must be submitted with the application.

Selection & Notification:

The W.C.E.F. will select and notify all applicants and scholarship recipients.  Once recipients have notified the W.C.E.F. in writing of their acceptance by an accredited institution, the scholarship checks will be mailed directly to that institution.
